Unpacking the 2023-2024 Social Justice Statement
Workshop Flyer (pdf)
In their 2023-2024 Social Justice Statement, Listen, Learn, Love: A New Engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, Australia’s Bishops join with the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Catholic Council (NATSICC) to call on us, as Catholics, to develop relationships of humility and love with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. They invite us to begin a new engagement with the First Peoples – one that is grounded in the same love that is at the heart of Jesus’ message. This love is characterised by a commitment to encounter and dialogue, reciprocity, mutual accompaniment and a desire to put the other at the centre of our attention. Join us for two workshops in which this rich document is unpacked.
