Come Fly a Kite!

Let your faith soar…those who trust in the Lord will find new strength, they will soar.  Isaiah 40:31

Child Protection Week 2022 shines a light on children growing up in a safe environment, supported by their family, church, community and culture.

This year the Safeguarding Team invites you to participate in a fun arts & crafts activity to make a kite. We hope that this activity brings people together, encourages them to talk and raises awareness of safeguarding and child protection.

An instruction sheet for the kite kit is attached for your perusal.

The kite kits themselves are available for collection from the Safeguarding Office at 29 Victoria Square Perth.  Our office hours are 8.30 am – 4.00 pm (Monday-Friday).

Please collect your kite kit by 29 August 2022.  Take it back to your parish, agency or office and start making an amazing piece of art and a fun toy!

If you or a representative are unable to collect your kite kit in the coming weeks, please let us know and we will try to assist.

Our office has already completed our kite (see below). We had a lot of fun working together and we hope our effort gives you some idea of what you can do.

Please do not forget to email your ‘in-action’ and finished kite photos to safeguarding@perthcatholi.org.au.

The invitations to the 2022 CPW Morning Tea at St Mary’s Cathedral on Tuesday, 6 September will be sent out shortly. You can bring your kite to display or even fly it on the grounds of the Cathedral!

We look forward to seeing you soon.

Have fun!!

Safeguarding Team
